Restylane® Injections in Bucks & Montgomery Counties

In 2003, Restylane® was the first hyaluronic acid dermal filler to be approved by the FDA. Since then, the market has exploded both among users and developers of cosmetic fillers. Now hyaluronic acid filler injections are the second most popular cosmetic treatment in the United States, after BOTOX® and Dysport® injections.

Dr. Weishar examines each patient’s facial structure to determine adequate dosage amount and injection sites best suited to the patient’s goals.

Overview of Restylane® at Springhouse Dermatology & Aesthetics

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is the active ingredient in the Restylane and Juvéderm families of fillers. HA fillers owe their success to their natural ability to attract water. Because HA is an ingredient found naturally in the human body, it integrates smoothly into the skin with minimal side effects. Most people experience only minor swelling, and the substance is harmlessly absorbed into the body over time. It provides long-lasting results as some of the hyaluronic acid is absorbed, leaving the remaining amount to retain its volume by binding to water, allowing it to remain nearly constant for the entire period. Restylane and Juvéderm both contain lidocaine, a numbing agent that renders the procedure nearly painless.

The Restylane family of fillers can be used to add volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, including nasolabial folds, laugh lines, cheeks, orbital hollows, and temples. They can also be used in other fine to moderate wrinkles such as lipstick lines and marionette lines, or to enhance the fullness of your lips.

FAQ

How are Restylane® treatments performed?

Dr. Weishar determines the injection site(s) and administers the hyaluronic acid filler via a thin, sterile needle. Each procedure is complete in about 30 minutes. Finding a dermatologist with a unique focus on Restylane® injections and dermal fillers is key to safe and long-lasting injections.

How long do Restylane® results last?

Patients immediately notice increased volume after injections. Depending on the area that’s been treated, the benefits of Restylane® last between 6 months to a year. After a year individuals can undergo another series of injections.

How does Restylane® work?

The injectable works by delivering powerful doses of hyaluronic acid within the skin. This draws moisture to lax features, plumps skin and minimizes fine lines and wrinkles.

Can Restylane® be combined with other treatments?

Patients who seek a more enhanced solution for facial wrinkles can combine Restylane® with other injectables, such as Botox or Juvéderm, and/or laser treatments. You can discuss additional treatments with Dr. Weishar to develop a plan that works best for your particular aesthetic goals.
